The Polish champion got injured during his training camp in southern Portugal, in Monte Gordo. Marcel Lomnicky, who is going to defend his silver medal from last year in Leiria said: “I am very sorry about what happened to him. I was there when it happened, when he damaged his thigh muscle. “
Nowicki originally did not want to start at the European Cup because they were expecting a baby. But in the meantime, their daughter was born, so Wojciech has reconsidered his plans and the Polish athletic committee has registered him for Samorin.
Now, there is an exchange in the starting list of men’s hammer throw competition. There will be Arkadiusz Rogowski competing for Poland.
At the last minute for the visa issue, Armenia will not be present in Samorin by Manuk Manukyan at Discus Throw. However, there should compete 329 athletes (166 men and 163 women) from 37 countries. The highest number of participants so far – 302 – has been reported in to the official athletics statistics (EA) in 2012 in Bare, Montenegro. A total of 487 people will come to Samorin – 329 athletes and 158 team members.
