ŠAMORÍN, December 10, 2017 – Norwegian super talented Jakob Ingebrigtsen confirmed his role of the main favourite in the U20 men category in 6,28 km track. When running into the finish line, he easily got better of Ramazan Barbaros from Turkey and defended last year’s title from Chia.
While last year Ingebrigtsen won with 8 seconds lead, this year he finished only two seconds earlier than his biggest rival, this year’s Balkan cross country champion. Louis Gilavert from France finished third as last year, he also finished third at EC U20 3000 m hurdle race in Grosseto.
The seventeen-years-old, youngest from the three Ingebrigtsens brothers, crowned a great season, during which he became the youngest man who ran 1 mile under 4 minutes, broke the U20 European record in 3000 m hurdle race, and won gold in this category in EC U20 in Grosseto (also in 5000 m category).
The best one from the four Slovaks was Slovak champion, Miroslav Borovka, who finished 82th from 109 participants. Spaniards won over French in the team competitions – switching last year’s placings. Slovaks finished 17th.
